Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity has many members who achieve superior lifelong personal development and professional success. These young, emerging leaders serve as role models for our undergraduate and young alumni. A secondary goal is to firmly establish the breadth of professional careers available to graduates of today's dynamic and global colleges of agriculture, and to foster lifelong personal development through innovative educational, leadership and social opportunities.
The award will provide opportunities for interaction with brothers at Leadership Seminars and visits with chapters. This program identifies a cadre of future leaders who can be involved in the affairs of the National Fraternity, and whose personal lives and professional careers are consistent with the Promise and Values.
At each of the four Leadership Seminars, one award may be presented. A selection committee will administer the selection and nomination process. The Committee will give primary consideration to the following.
- Contributions to Alpha Gamma Rho.
- Outstanding career achievements.
- Contributions to agriculture.
- Contributions to the community.
Awardees are expected to attend a Leadership Seminar to receive the award. The award will consist of a suitable plaque and travel expenses (if required) for the awardee to attend a Leadership Seminar and two visits to chapters over the next year. Awardees are encouraged to attend National Convention and receive recognition, without expense reimbursement.
Any brother alumnus age 40 or less is eligible for this award. A broad definition of a profession is to be encouraged. An identified career linkage to the food and agricultural system is desirable, but not required. Awardees must be able to attend one the Leadership Seminars for the award presentation and provide a suitable photograph.
November 15 is the deadline to submit nominations for the Grand President's Award. Nominations should include a copy of the nominee's LinkedIn profile.
