Top Leaders Institute FAQ

Who can go to Top Leaders Institutes? 

All incoming Chapter Officers, as well as one Alumni Association Representative (Alumni Board or Housing Corp.), Chapter Adviser, and Housemother/House Director should attend the Top Leaders Institute assigned to their chapter.

How much does it cost to attend Top Leaders Institute? 

Top Leaders Institute is free to attend, and the Fraternity covers a participant's accommodations and dining costs during that chapter's assigned Top Leaders Institute. The Fraternity coordinates all hotel accommodations. When can I register?

Registration is open for Alumni Association Representatives, Chapter Advisers, and Housemothers/House Directors. Chapter Officer registration begins Nov. 15, 2024.

When is the deadline to register?

The deadline to register for Top Leaders Institute is Dec. 15, 2024. 

What does the schedule look like? 

Registration will open at 11 a.m. All participants should arrive at the hotel by 12:30 p.m., at the latest, to have the lunch provided. Top Leaders Institute begins at 1 p.m. on the first day. The institute will wrap up the second day at 3:30 p.m. 

What do I wear for Top Leaders Institute? 

Participants should dress in business-casual attire throughout the institute. Alpha Gamma Rho defines business casual as khakis/chicos or slacks, collared shirt or polo, and appropriate footwear (blazer or jacket optional). Jeans, T-shirts, jeans, shorts, or flip-flops are not appropriate for Top Leaders Institute. 

What supplies should I pack? 

Bring paper or a notebook, writing utensils, and a personal laptop or tablet. We will be reviewing AGRconnect™, Vault (Omega Fi), and myAGR resources throughout Top Leaders Institute.  

What do I need to do before my Top Leaders Institute?

  • Incoming officers should participate in an Officer Transition Retreat, facilitated by an Adviser or local alumnus.
  • Every newly elected officer must complete a learning module about their office on AGRconnect™.
  • All participants will receive an email explaining how to complete the Leadership Practices Inventory in advance of Top Leaders Institute.

What else can I expect at Top Leaders Institute? 

Participants will have the ability to interact with brothers from chapters in their region, discuss relevant topics within chapter life, meet prominent alumni within the field of agriculture, and depart fully equipped to lead their chapter toward Local Chapter Excellence.
