Purpose of the Foundation

  • To aid and assist needy and deserving students in their efforts to secure a better education by scholarships, loans and/or grants; and
  • To promote and encourage scientific, philosophic and literary endeavor.

Beneficiaries are college students and they are selected based on scholastic and leadership achievement and need.

Currently, the Foundation funds the following programs:

1. Matching funds to Chapters

7. Undergraduate achievement awards

2. Leadership Seminars

8. Leadership assistants

3. 4-H and FFA scholarships

9. Adviser and Housemother awards

4. Grants for educational housing

10. Recruitment schools

5. Chapter scholarship awards

11. Adviser and Housemother training sessions

6. "No Interest" student loans

12. Other educational and leadership programming

In addition, the Educational Foundation owns the Home Office building and leases space to the General Fraternity. At the present time a significant number of alumni donate annually to support the Fraternity. Their contributions vary in size and represent the revenues of the National Fraternity. Because of Alpha Gamma Rho's strong ties with its alumni and the programs provided by the National Fraternity, AGR has been one of the leaders among fraternities in the amount of support received from alumni. All Brothers are encouraged to support the work of the Foundation by making tax deductible contributions, donating assets, assigning life insurance or naming the Foundation in their will.
