Ronald Wayne Hurt Memorial Scholarship

Purpose of the Scholarship is to provide support to undergraduate members of Delta Chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho who support the spirit and patriotism exemplified by Captain Ronald W. Hurt during his lifetime.

Scholarship Criteria:

  1. A member of Delta Chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity who is in good standing and actively involved in fraternity operations.
  2. Member is successfully involved in Purdue University related activities and clubs.
  3. Member is a current student in good standing at Purdue University with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 / 4.0 system, although first preference will be given to those who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Member is a sophomore, junior or senior at Purdue University, or is a direct descendant of Ronald Hurt’s Family.
  5. Member is:
    • A current member of a Purdue University ROTC unit, a national guard unit, a military reserve unit, or other active military unit, or has active military experiences, OR
    • A member of a family with prior United States military service by parents or grandparents, or other family members OR
    • A member with strong positive opinions on national patriotism and public service as expressed in an essay required as part of the scholarship application, OR
    • A member is planning future patriotic activities or is considering or expecting to pursue some.
    • A member with no personal or family military experience is eligible for this scholarship.

Current Scholarship Award Amount: $2,000 per year per awardee. A member may receive this award for a maximum of two (2) times.
