Beta Rho Chapter Holds Work Weekends To Improve Chapter House

Beta Rho Chapter at Northwest Missouri State University gathered twice this summer for what they call their “Work Weekends,” where the brothers gather to plan for the upcoming school year and work on improving the chapter house and property.

Chapter Houses and the property they reside on are not just a place to stay, they are a place for brothers to grow in brotherhood and can aid in recruitment.

Brother Hayden Beccard, the Noble Ruler of Beta Rho Chapter, said Work Weekends are a fairly common practice among Northwest Missouri State’s Greek community, and the chapter had been doing them for as long as he can remember.

Error!

Although these weekends are planned for work, the brothers make sure to enjoy some time together. Brother Beccard said this summer they got to use the fire pit they had built during a previous work weekend. He said it was a nice way to end a hard day of work that he hopes pays off in future recruitment numbers.

Brother Beccard said next year he isn’t sure what the chapter will plan to do, as he will be graduating in May 2026, but he looks forward to seeing what they do. Depending on their House Management budget, Beta Rho chapter could do a number of small projects over the summer that can help improve the chapter house’s curb appeal.

Chapters looking to improve their chapter house with the support of the AGR Home Office can apply for the Improvement Grant from the Housing Resources Trust on the Alpha Gamma Rho website.
