  • Chief Development Officer for Alpha Gamma Rho 

Alpha Gamma Rho National Headquarters is in search of a new Chief Development Officer to join the AGR Home Office Staff.

Help take an established organization’s fundraising efforts to the next level. Lead, create and direct an effective fund raising program for Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, a professional-social fraternity with members sharing a common bond within the agriculture industry.

Seeking an experienced and highly motivated development professional with a minimum of 5 years of fundraising experience.

  • Chapter Consultant for Alpha Gamma Rho

​​​​Alpha Gamma Rho National Headquarters is in search of a new Chapter Consultant to join the AGR Home Office Staff. 

This is a full time staff position, employed by the Chief Executive Officer with approval by the Grand President. AGR Chapter Consultants are responsible primarily for the programs, services and visitation of undergraduate chapters under the guidance of the Director of Chapter Advancement. In addition, this member will provide direct assistance to Undergraduate chapters, alumni corporations, and alumni chapters, follow up on issues, enhance existing and suggest new programming at all chapters, and assist in communications and publications as they affect chapters.  Work with others, as assigned by the Director of Chapter Advancement, to develop strong chapter programs.  Assist the Director of Chapter Advancement in the performance of their responsibilities.

Communications Internship at the AGR Home Office 

Gain professional work experience through this communications internship by assisting with the strategic communications of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity Home Office. Interns will gain experience writing social media content, press releases, blog posts, magazine articles, and more. They will assist with small design and layout projects to help with production of marketing materials. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing the marketing and communications plan
  • Assist in writing content for the monthly online newsletter
  • Assist in developing engaging content for the department’s social media platforms
  • Assist in the production and distribution of marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, schedules, and other public and promotional materials
  • Assist with photography of programs and events to be used for marketing purposes
  • Attend department meetings
  • Communicate regularly with Director of Communications
  • Regular display of enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and high level of accountability and reliability
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Interns must be available to work the full intern session
  • Interns are non-exempt and will be paid an hourly rate

Experience: 

  • Background experience in communications, marketing, and journalism. Experience with the use of social media, web-based platforms, and Adobe Creative Suite required. Experience with photography and videography desired.
  • Education:
  • Recent graduates are welcomed! College experience majoring in journalism, marketing, communications, public relations, ag communications, or a related field preferred. High School diploma or GED required.

Ted A. Priebe Excellence in Agricultural Marketing Communications Scholarship and Internship

APPLICATION DUE TOMORROW, OCTOBER 31! 

Two $1,500 scholarships will be awarded annually. One scholarship is designated for an Alpha Gamma Rho member and the second scholarship is designated for a female member of one of the following: Sigma Alpha Sorority, Agriculture Future of America (AFA), National Agricultural Communications of Tomorrow (ACT) or collegiate NAMA.

Those who apply for the Ted A. Priebe Excellence in Agricultural Marketing Communications Scholarship need to meet the following criteria:

  • Desire to pursue a career in agricultural marketing communications
  • Is a sophomore or junior at their college or university
  • Has a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or at least a “B” average
  • Demonstrates leadership and is successfully involved in student activities and clubs.

**Additionally, FLM Harvest shall offer under no obligation to the scholarship recipient, a paid internship upon selection.

Scholarship Application

Agricultural and Rural Policy Internship

Brother Allan Johnson and Sarah Wyant established this fund with the intent to annually award a $5,000 housing stipend and offer an internship opportunity in Washington, D.C. Candidates must have the following criteria:

  • Be a sophomore or junior Alpha Gamma Rho member in good standing
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Pursuing an agricultural or food-related degree path
  • Have demonstrated leadership and agricultural involvement
  • Have demonstrated interest in agriculture or food policy
  • Provide an essay on “Agvocacy” and their agriculture and food policy interests (500 words or less)
  • Provide three letters of reference (one from institution, one from an AGR alumnus, and one personal)
  • Further, the selected candidates who benefit from the Agricultural and Rural Policy Internship will be expected to do the following:
  • Write a letter of appreciation for the internship/fellowship opportunity to the Fund Advisory Committee
  • Complete Foundations in Personal Finance – Chapter 5 – Family, Friends & Philanthropy on AGRconnect and submit a copy of their AGRconnect transcript
  • Attend and speak at the Washington, D.C. Alumni Chapter luncheon for a formal introduction and welcome by the area alumni
  • Assist Alpha Gamma Rho Home Office staff with an article for the SICKLE & SHEAF and other media channels
  • Provide a presentation of their experience to their respective Alpha Gamma Rho Chapter
  • Attend Alpha Gamma Rho’s Biennial National Convention and assist the Home Office staff and the Convention Advisory Team in conducting a convention workshop
  • Serve a three-year term on the Fund Advisory Committee
