• National Scholarship Application Form

    Alpha Gamma Rho urges excellence from undergraduates and provides encouragement and recognition for intellectual attainment in addition to rewards given by the college. The fraternity considers good scholastic standing a key measure of its members' success and sense of purpose in college. To that end, AGR is offering scholarships to the undergraduates of Alpha Gamma Rho. Criteria for eligibility for each scholarship differs, but is based on the individual's pursuit of excellence in scholarship and leadership, and for his contributions to community and fraternity. The deadline for all scholarship applications is April 30.

    The following scholarships are available to brothers from any AGR chapter. Please check all scholarships that you're interested in applying for and eligible.

    Description: Up to four scholarships will be awarded to the individuals that excel in scholarship, leadership, citizenship, activities and fraternal involvement. All undergraduates are eligible to apply.

    Description: Two scholarships are presented to outstanding undergraduates that excel in all areas of involvement.

    Description: George Staby has provided for two scholarships limited to current AGR undergraduates who are enrolled with a declared horticulture-related major and have completed three courses in their major.

    Description: Ole Meland has provided an annual scholarship for one AGR undergraduate who achieves high levels of excellence and who is pursuing a major in dairy. An undergraduate candidate at Cal Poly-SLO will be given preference.

    Description: Gene Swackhamer has provided one annual scholarship for one AGR undergraduate who achieves high levels of excellence and is pursuing a major in agricultural economics or agribusiness.

    Description: Kirby Barrick has provided a scholarship to be presented annually to one AGR undergraduate who achieves high levels of excellence and is pursuing a major in agricultural education.

    Description: The Foundation will grant one scholarship to an undergraduate who truly has financial need and exhibits leadership and citizenship traits. First preference will be given to students of Iowa State.

    Description: A Scholarship will be presented to a current AGR undergraduate who plans to complete a college course to pursue a career in agri-marketing, journalism, advertising or public relations. This is not an academic scholarship.

    To be considered for the scholarships, you must e-mail or mail a transcript and have your Adviser or an Alumni Board member vouch for your application.

    Brothers intending to live in the chapter house (where applicable) will be given first priority for the scholarships.
