McALPIN, Fla. – Feb. 4, 2011 – Raymond Hodge is one of four individuals selected to receive the Alpha Gamma Rho Grand President’s Award. He will be honored with the award at 2011 AGR Leadership Seminar in Baltimore, Md. which will take place March 4-5. His efforts consistent with the AGR Promise and Values qualified him for this award.
Hodge is Director of Governmental Affairs for Southeast Milk, Inc. in Belleview, Fla. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida.
Hodge serves on the board of directors for Suwanee County Farm Bureau, board of directors for Florida Agriculture Hall of Fame, board of directors for Mason Smoak Foundation, and is president of Rotary Club of Live Oak and state officer of Florida FFA Association.
Through his contributions to agriculture, Hodge has devoted his career to influencing agricultural policy on the state and national level through his work as a legislative aide or lobbyist. He has worked tirelessly on the political campaigns of a variety of candidates on the local, state and congressional levels. He has also made it a point to assist AGR brothers seeking political office. He is currently working with Congressman Adam Putnam who is seeking the office of Florida Commissioner of Agricultural and Consumer Services.
Hodge has remained involved with Alpha Gamma Rho by staying active with the Alpha Gamma Alumni Association. He served as president from 2002 until 2004, secretary from 2005 to present, Capital Campaign steering committee from 2006 to present, and he is currently serving as interim house mother to ensure the chapter is compliant with university policy. He also served as an Alpha Gamma Educational Foundation board member from 2002 until 2004.
Administered and nominated by a selection committee the Grand President’s Award is awarded by AGR for business excellence and professional achievement. It is awarded to specific fraternity alumni age 40 or under who have achieved remarkable success in their professional careers. This award demonstrates an honorable acknowledgement of Hodge’s leadership, professionalism and knowledge of his industry.
